Jeff Drake will provide an update on ISD #544 and comment on the state of public education in general. Jeff is serving his seventh year as the superintendent of Fergus Falls Public Schools. He grew up in Deer River, MN. He has a B.A. in psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College and an M.A. in educational psychology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

He was named the Minnesota Middle School Principal of the Year in 2009 and had the honor of serving as president of the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals in 2012. He was the administrator for a National Blue Ribbon Elementary School in 2011, a National Blue Ribbon School District (one of only 25 in the United States) in 2014 and a high school that was a 6-time Minnesota Reward School. He will serve as the president of the Minnesota Rural Education Association beginning in January 2026.
